GAZETTE & HERALD: CALNE hotellier Tony Calleya is launching a tenth anniversary celebration by going back in time.
Mr Calleya has run the 400-year-old Lansdowne Strand Hotel, on The Strand, for ten years, a long time in the hotel trade, and he wants to celebrate by giving something back to the town.
Town businessmen and councillors are going to support the event, where all food and drink will be the price it was ten years ago.
An hotel spokesman said said: "The Lansdowne Hotel is part of the heritage of Calne. It's the oldest hotel in the area and it's been a watering hole for over 400 years.
"People have been talking about it for some time and we're hoping for a full house. It will be a good idea to book with prices this cheap."
Diners can indulge on anything on the menu, from homemade pies, vegetarian dishes or fresh fish.
The 10oz rump steak is half the meaty price it costs today at just £7.95.
The celebrations will begin tomorrow night where all drinks will be at a ten year low, and Saturday is the day for bargain food.
