MARCH 2 2006, SWINDON: COMING from the bright lights of Worcester are up-and-coming band the Dastards who are currently promoting their debut EP entitled The Trouble.
Wake, 18, is the lead singer of the band and the main songwriter with a distinctive singing style. He is joined in the band by Chris, 20, on guitar, Dan, 18, on bass and Lloyd, 19, on drums.
The Dastards are performing at Area 51, Hobley Drive in Swindon tomorrow. The stadium rock meets indie band have been approached by a BBC producer to write a track for, and perform in a new film drama for BBC3.
Wake, alias Mark Wakefield, said: "As time was very short, the track was written, recorded and submitted all in the space of three days. We're now waiting to see if it will be included in the film. Watch this space!'' The musicians also have a new single out called Shami Chakrabarti. Tickets to see the Dastards who are supported by Kilians Red and Crayfish are £5 from 01793 826488. Doors open 8pm. Age range is 16+ or 14+ with an adult.
