In market for warm weather

From the The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, first published Thursday 23rd Mar 2006.

Traders are hoping for more spring-like weather this weekend as Malmesbury's bi-monthly Farmers' Market returns to the Market Cross.

It will be open on Saturday from 9am to 2pm and will see the return of the Foxley Road and Sherston Parva nurseries offering a variety of plants and expert advice.

Market organiser Kardien Gerbrands said: "It has been a long cold winter for those of us doing regular markets, but the weather last weekend gave us all some hope.

"Despite the cold we now have a growing group of regular local customers, who have discovered the delights of the produce on offer and make this a thriving market.

"Everyone wants to eat a more healthy diet and fresh local produce provides us with a tasty way to fulfil our nutritional requirements."

As well as the nurseries there will be Purely Organic's fresh trout and watercress, Bow in the Cloud's English grape wines, Jacqui's Home Made Sweets and Simon Weaver's organic soft cheese.
